Limits of color perception
Our perception of color is based on what we know about colors. However, you can push the boundaries of your perception at any time by expanding and applying your knowledge of colors, for which there are many opportunities in everyday life.
Colors serve to control behavior
Colors are not just messages that convey meanings to us and control our behavior. They also shape the design of our living environment, ensure recognizability and thus intuitively gain our trust. Theoretically, we are completely free to use colors independently of their meanings and effects. In practice, however, this is almost impossible because our use of color is determined by conventions.
The language of colors
Colors are symbols, not unlike the words of our language, which we cannot arbitrarily exchange or change without causing massive comprehension problems. In our everyday lives, we have to rely on the learned connection between color, content and effect in hundreds of situations.
